Bug found in my friends hair. What is it? (Please tell me it’s not the L word)

— without seeing it, nobody can honestly confirm it’s the L-word. Hair bugs get misidentified all the time.

Here’s some calm reality first 

Most things people find in hair are NOT lice. Common impostors:

• Ant / baby ant – super common, especially if outside or near food
• Spider / mite – can wander into hair accidentally
• Flea – jumps, doesn’t live in hair
• Bed bug nymph – very rare in hair, usually on clothes/skin
• Lint / seed / debris – panic classic
